The Cathedral in Leon, Spain has some truly spectacular stained glass windows. It is beautiful walking inside of the cathedral when the sun-light filters in through the glass and makes coloured patterns on the wall. In the past, stained glass windows were used to educate the masses who were unable to read let alone right.
Stained glass can be tricky to expose, and you did a lovely job of that - and of capturing that ray! I just sorta wish it was composed differently - it doesn't take advantage of the directionality of the light. Not sure what the circumstances were, but it seems like you could have done a lot more with such a beautiful scene.
I definetly agree with you! The window was enormous and it was pitch black in the church as the only ilumination came from the windows; I was trying to find some way to fit the entirety of it in the photograph. Unfortunetly, that didn't exactly lead to the nicest of compositions. I didn't have a tripod on me either, so that really didn't help matters. I still have so much to learn about photgraphy, and it great to recieve critique!
